Posy Knight began dancing at The Cumbrae School of Dance in Ottawa, Canada in 1987. After continuing her training at the Washington School of Ballet from 1990-1994, Ms. Knight landed in Colorado Springs her freshman year of high school and quickly established professional bonds with the Ormao Contemporary Dance Company as well as the Springs' Repertory Theatre Company (Oklahoma, Peter Pan), The Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration (Pepito's Story, dir. Debbie Allen), also dancing in a UCCS/Theatreworks/Colorado Springs Symphony debut production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. She earned her B.F.A. in 2002 from the Juilliard School under the direction of the late Benjamin Harkarvy. While there she danced both corps and solo roles in works choreographed by Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, Lar Lubovitch and Margie Gillis among other modern masters of our time. Ms. Knight danced for three seasons with New York-based modern company Rioult, spent 3 years living abroad in Argentina, and is currently working as a freelance teacher and choreographer. Her ballet "PLAYLIST" (Ormao) received the Pikes Peak Arts Council's 2009 Best Choreography Award. You can see her onstage with "Our Community Dance Theatre" June 10-19 presented at "Watch This Space Gallery" and take class with her this summer at Ormao and Synergy Dance Schools in Colorado Springs. She was accepted to the University of CT’s Theatre Design Masters School in scenography and art direction.Posey will be performing this August 13th and 14th with The Bridge Dance Project.
