
Destiny is The Artistic Director for The Bridge Dance Project which was founded in May 2010. The Bridge Dance project believes that art should have a more collaborative process. At TBDP Artists come together to generate ideas forms and movement. Through this process there is less ownership and more partnership. The Bridge Dance Project is all about bringing a veriety of college level and professional artists together for a collaborative experience that leads to performance. The Bridge dance project will have its first performance this august 13,14 2010. Destiny Harris began her dance training at a small studio in Denver, Colorado. She went on to land a spot in Denver School of The Arts. From 6Th grade on she performed in at least 2 professional shows a year. She was blessed to have teachers Micheal Obanion and Alisha Karzewski instruct her in Modern,Ballet,Improve and a host of other dance forms. They helped her develop strong technique and an artistic voice for that she is thankful. Her greatest achievement so far has been performing “Steps in The Street” 1936 choreographed by Martha Graham re staged by Mellissa MCcorkle. In 2008 she completed a student led Senior production in which she performed a solo piece and choreographed a group piece. The show drew over 400 audience members on each of the 3 nights. In 2009 she was awarded a solo in ORU's spring concert. In the summer of 2009 she choreographed a group piece for the first annual Exchange Choreography Festival in Tulsa Oklahoma. Destiny is now attending Pikes peak Community College and a member of Colorado modern dance company under the Direction of Ila Conoley.Destiny would like to pursue her masters in choreography and has been accepted to Stephens college in Columbia ,MO for the spring of 2011.
